Basically they're all great fun, but when it comes to the financial side of it, which one is better value for money, which one is better for you in the long and short term?
Many people would answer this question with a simple answer that you're neither, but it's not that simple. The answer also depends a lot on whether you are looking at the short term or the long term, whether you want to win more money all at once or less all the time.
Casino
Casino gambling is clearly more profitable in the short term than in the long term, but when it comes to slot machines, the potential for bigger winnings is much greater than in sports betting, for example. It's not uncommon for a slot to pay multipliers of 1000-5000, but there are also much more outrageous multipliers of 60,000 and then there are the multi-million jackpots that can be won with a few hundred spins.
I can tell you from experience that it's not that hard to spin a 2,000 multiplier from a slot machine, I've had plenty of times where I've won big money with a small deposit. As an example, about a week ago I deposited €30 on Fairspin and managed to pay out €1500. The important thing that casinos rely on is the greed to want more, I could have easily said in the heat of the momentum that I could have 10,000 out of that 1,500 and started playing with bigger money and probably would have had a huge bust.
So if you want a chance to win big, you should definitely go for the casino.
Sports betting
Sports betting is a completely different story, where we have a say in what happens, because we choose what we bet on. We have a lot of experience, data and statistics at our disposal and we try to give you as much information as possible to help you bet successfully.
However, I think it is harder to make big money here. Just think about what kind of ticket you have to put together to get a multiplier of 1000-2000, which is not uncommon in casinos. Either you have to choose picks that have high odds or you have to make a lot of bets on a single ticket, all of which will reduce your chances of winning tremendously.
I prefer to think of sports betting as a continuous small income stream, where it's worth taking 1 or 2 picks at most and taking the profit.
These are my insights and experiences, both casino and sports betting are great fun and if done sensibly a source of income.
